George and Agnes Fountas celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Feb. 19, 2010. The couple married on that date in 1950 at the Greek Orthodox Church in Lynn.
Their children, Dr. George N. Fountas Jr., of Andover, and Dr. Diane L. Fountas of Woodbury, Conn., held a dinner reception in their honor in Woodbury on Feb. 13. Besides the couple's children, their granddaughter, Jessica Malionek, her husband, Robert Malionek, and their great-grandchildren, Zoe, Braydon and Elias, were in attendance.
George and Agnes moved to Attleboro in 1954. George retired from the chemical industry in 1998. Agnes owns and manages her real estate office in Attleboro.
