Local obituaries were reported for Kenneth Clark, 40, of Attleboro, Lawrence Brennick, 77, of Attleboro, Loretta Giroir, 67, of Norton, and Eva Holmes, 95, of Norfolk.
Kenneth Clark, 40, active with scouts, T-ballATTLEBORO -- Kenneth F. Clark, 40, of Oakhill Avenue, died Thursday at home. He was the husband of Jane C. (Turcotte) Clark.
Born in Providence, June 15, 1960, he was a son of Pearl (Boudreau) Clark of Providence and the late Hugh Clark Jr. He lived in Attleboro since 1983, and previously resided in Pawtucket.
Mr. Clark was a sales engineer motion specialist at Eagle Electric in Cranston for the past three years.
Mr. Clark was a committee chairman for St. Stephen's Cub Scouts, Troop No. 15 in Attleboro, and served as an assistant coach for The Orioles, a local T-ball team.
Mr. Clark was a 1978 graduate of Shea High School, Pawtucket, and earned a certificate from the Hall Institute in Pawtucket in 1980.
He was an avid golfer, enjoyed working on his computer, and was an animal lover.
Besides his wife and mother, Mr. Clark is survived by two sons, Peter Clark and Patrick Clark, both of Attleboro; three brothers, Joseph Clark of Norton, Stephen Clark Sr. of Cumberland, R.I. and Norman Clark of Pawtucket; a sister, Kathleen Capozzi of Cranston; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother of the late Elizabeth Lonergan.
Funeral services will be held at 8:45 a.m. Monday from the Commonwealth Chapel of the Dyer-Lake Funeral Home, 161 Commonwealth Ave., Attleboro Falls, followed at 10 by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Stephen's Church, 683 South Main St., Attleboro, with the Rev. John Gabriel of LaSalette Shrine officiating. Burial will follow in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River.
Lawrence Brennick, 77, decorated WWII veteranATTLEBORO -- Lawrence `` Larry'' Brennick Sr., 77, of 27 George St., died Thursday at Ridgewood Court Nursing Home. He was the widower of Janet C. (Barr) Brennick.
Mr. Brennick was production supervisor at the former L.G. Balfour Company, Attleboro, retiring in 1985 after 25 years. Earlier, he was employed for 25 years as a dyer at the former Mansfield Bleachery.
Born in Easton, June 13, 1923, he was a son of the late Edward and Margaret (Furlong) Brennick. He lived in Attleboro the past 30 years.
He was educated in Easton schools.
During World War II, Mr. Brennick served in Company I, 7th Infantry, 3rd Division of the U.S. Army. He received the Silver Star, Purple Heart, the European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon with one Bronze Battle Star, and the Good Conduct Medal. He was wounded in action April 7, 1945 near Steinbach, Germany.
Mr. Brennick was a member of the D.A.V. Chapter 56 in North Attleboro and a communicant of St. John the Evangelist Church in Attleboro.
He enjoyed golf.
He is survived by two sons, Lawrence Brennick Jr. of Attleboro and Kenneth Brennick of Mansfield; two daughters, Carole Simoneau and Sandra Nunes, both of Attleboro; three brothers, Raymond Brennick of Easton, John Brennick of Brockton and Robert Brennick of Stoughton; a sister, Mary Collins of Mansfield; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Eleanor Gomes and Barbara Cole.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from the Duffy-Poule Funeral Home, 20 Peck St., followed at 11 by a funeral Mass in St. John the Evangelist Church, 133 North Main St.
Burial will be with full military honors in North Purchase Cemetery, North Main Street.
Loretta Giroir, 67, retired nurseNORTON -- Loretta A. (Reilly) Giroir, 67, died Thursday in Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro.
Born in Boston on May 4, 1934, she was the daughter of Loretta (Kilroy) Reilly-Kershaw in Florida and the late Joseph Reilly. She had been educated in Boston schools and had attended Fisher Junior College in Attleboro. She had resided in Norton for the past 25 years, moving from Boston.
Mrs. Giroir had worked for many years at the former Paul A. Dever State School in Taunton for many years as a licensed practical nurse. She had also worked for the Community Visiting Nurses of Attleboro, retiring two years ago.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by three sons, Robert Giroir in Ohio, Michael Giroir of Norton and Mark Cannata of Attleboro; two daughters, Diane LaVerde in Louisiana and Barbara Lander of Norton; two brothers, Gerald Reilly in Florida and John Reilly of Attleboro; a sister, Ann Reilly in Florida; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Stephen Giroir.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday from the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St., off Route 140, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 in St. Mary's Church, South Worcester Street. Burial will take place in Norton Common Cemetery, Norton.
Eva Holmes, 95, served on school boardNORFOLK -- Eva L. Holmes, 95, of 22 Myrtle St., died at home Monday. She was the widow of Walter T. Holmes.
Mrs. Holmes had served on the town's school committee for 15 years.
Born in South Hope, Maine, Dec. 25, 1905, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Florence (St. Clair) Taylor. She had been a long-time Norfolk resident, moving to town in 1932.
Mrs. Holmes was a member of the Federated Church of Norfolk and the church's Ivy Group, as well as a Sunday school teacher.
Mrs Holmes was also a member of the Deaconate, Norfolk Grange, and the Pamona Grange for 55 years.
She was past president of the Ladies Circle and a member of the Norfolk Neighborly Club.
Mrs. Holmes is survived by three sons, John Holmes and Richard Holmes, both of Norfolk, and David Holmes of Sunapee, N.H.; 10 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
The funeral is today at 10 a.m. in the Federated Church of Norfolk, 1 Union St., Norfolk. Burial will be in Norfolk Cemetery.
