Local obituaries were reported for Joan Gilbert, 84, of Norfolk and Deana Duval, 37, of North Attleboro.
Joan Gilbert, 84NORFOLK -- Joan U. Gilbert, 84, of Hillcrest Village, died Tuesday in the Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Wrentham. She was the widow of Rexford Gilbert.
Born in Hoboken, N.J. on July 8, 1916, she was the daughter of Lukasz and Justyna Urban. She had been raised in New Jersey and had raised her family near Penn Yan, N.Y. She had resided in Norfolk since 1983 and had also lived Punta Gorda, Fla.
Mrs. Gilbert had worked as a school secretary and had run an antique shop.
She had been active in community affairs and helped organized and participate in numerous activities on the Norfolk Council on Aging.
She is survived by a son, Thomas Gilbert of Norfolk; a daughter, Judi Gilbert of Gainesville, Fla.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Federated Church of Norfolk, Union Street. Burial will be private.
Arrangements are by the R.J. Ross Funeral Home, 135 South St., Wrentham.
Deana Duval, 37NORTH ATTLEBORO -- Deana M. Duval, 37, of Brook Street, died Wednesday in the Memorial Hospital of Rhode Island after a brief illness.
Born in the Dorchester section of Boston on May 30, 1964, she was the daughter of Delbert and Maxine (Wengler) Brown of North Attleboro. She had resided in North Attleboro for over 10 years, previously living in Randolph most of her life. She was a 1982 graduate of Blue Hills Regional Technical High School in Canton.
She had enjoyed camping and motorcycling.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a son, Jason Michael, of North Attleboro; two brothers, Daryn Brown of North Attleboro and Derek Brown of Plainville; a sister, Denise Brown of North Attleboro; her grandfather, Albert Brown of Plainville and two nieces.
A funeral will be held at 9 a.m. Monday from the Sperry & McHoul Funeral Home, 15 Grove St., followed by a funeral Mass at 10 in St. Mary's Church, Park Street. Burial will take place in the Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree.
