Local obituaries were reported for Shirley Mace, 57, of Mansfield and James Silkie Sr., 80, of North Attleboro.

Shirley Mace, 57

MANSFIELD -- Shirley J. Mace, 57, died Wednesday in Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro. She was the wife of Charles Mace.

Born in Boston on Oct. 19, 1943, she was a daughter of the late Delbert and Claire (LaMontagne) Thomas. She had resided in Mansfield for the past 30 years.

Mrs. Mace had been a homemaker.

She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Charles Mace Jr. of Lakeville and Scott Mace of Attleboro; two daughters, Debra Castelli of Wallingford, Conn., and Dayna Pleau of Attleboro; a brother, William Thomas of Plymouth; two sisters, Janet Yankun of Brockton and Claire Gallo of Plymouth; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 8 a.m. Monday from the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 in St. Mary's Church, 330 Pratt St., Route 106. Burial will take place in St. Mary's Cemetery.

James Silkie Sr., 80

NORTH ATTLEBORO -- James Edward Silkie Sr., 80, of Cushman Road, died Thursday in the Pleasant Manor Nursing Home, Attleboro. He was the husband of Regina A. (Lee) Silkie, to whom he had been married 54 years last Dec. 8.

Born in Suffern, N.Y., on May 25, 1921, he was a son of the late Charles and Margaret (Doxey) Silkie. He had resided in North Attleboro for the past 19 years.

Mr. Silkie had been employed for over 20 years as a route salesman for the Continental Baking Co. of Long Island, N.Y. He had earlier owned and operated several delicatessens on Long Island.

He had served as a staff sergeant in the 41st Armored Infantry Regiment, US Army, during World War II.

Mr. Silkie had coached Little League in Freeport, N.Y., for many years and had enjoyed gardening and woodworking.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, James Silkie Jr. of Baldwin, N.Y.; two daughters, Regina Blais of North Smithfield, R.I. and Donna Silkie of North Attleboro; four grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late William, John and Raymond Silkie.

Funeral services are private.
