The puck drops on the local high school hockey season, with all five area teams hoping to advance to the MIAA Tournament.

Among them, tournament-tested Bishop Feehan will contend for the Eastern Athletic Conference title and boasts the best chance of any to qualify for postseason play.

The King Philip High Warriors also appear to have a good shot at tournament action, and maybe win a game or two as well after having just missed out last season by just one win.

Mansfield and Foxboro have been skating well, but the formation of lines, the confidence in defensive pairings and the performances in net will determine how high that they will climb in the Hockomock League.

Similarly, Attleboro High is on the rise, the Bombardiers having won a single-season record seven games last season.
