BASKETBALL

Free throw contest: The annual North Attleboro Knights of Columbus Free Throw will be held on January 18th at Bishop Feehan High School. The event will take place from 1-2:30 p.m. and is open to anyone between the ages of 10 and 14. VOLLEYBALL

SWIMMING

SOCCER

Attleboro Youth Soccer registration for Spring Recreation season for 4-on-4, In-town, and recreation programs; visit attleborosoccer.com for link to online registration; registration deadline is April 11, 2004; spring season runs from April 25-June 13; Spring In-Town games will be played on Sunday afternoons at the Dodgeville Fields; players birth dates need to be between Sept. 2, 1995-Sept. 1, 1999 to qualify for the spring 4-on-4 Coed Recreation Program; fegistration for the Fall 2004 In Town Recreation Program will begin, deadline for the Fall Recreation Program will be May 15, 2004; In addition, AYS is also accepting registrations for spring travel (BAYS) program; BAYS registration forms can be printed from the AYS web site.
ATTLEBORO Referee course offered: Attleboro Youth Soccer is hosting a Grade 8 Referee course. Participants should be at least 15 years of age by the beginning of their first season as a referee. The course will be conducted at Attleboro High School's Mini Auditorium on February 3 and February 6, from 6-10 p.m.; on February 7, from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will culminate with a test on February, 10 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The teachers will be USSF certified instructors. Students must complete all 16 hours of instruction and pass the written test. Class size is limited, so sign up as soon as possible. To enroll, e-mail Dawn Phelps at InkandPEN(at)aol.com for space availability. There is a non-refundable course fee of $35 (checks payable to Dawn Phelps). Upon successful completion of the course an additional $30 will be required. Participants are encouraged to bring pen and paper to each class.
BASEBALL

Hitting Clinic: Rhode Island Baseball Academy and Rhode Island College will host its annual hitting clinic at RIC's Recreation Center. Session I will be Friday, March 19 and Sunday, March 21, while Session II will be on Friday March 26 and Sunday March 28. Attleboro Youth Baseball: Final registration for the 2004 season will be held Saturday, January 17th from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Attleboro Recreation Center. Players must be at least six years old and not older than 15 on or before July 31, 2004. All six year old players and all other new players must submit a copy of a birth certificate at the time of registration. Fees are as follows: T-Ball (Age 6 only), $45; Ages 7-12, $55; Ages 13-15, $60.
SOFTBALL
Attleboro, weekly softball clinics are offered by SAGRA to girls in first grade through age 16 from Jan. 4-March 28. The clinics costs $1 and are held at the recreation center, or armory, on Pine Street. They run on Sunday evenings, 6-8 p.m. The fundamentals of pitching, hitting and fielding will be stressed. Parental participation is encouraged.
Wrentham Baseball/Softball Registrations: WYBSA is holding registrations for Spring 2004. Please visit the Delaney School Foyer: Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, 8 a.m.-noon and Saturday, Jan. 24, 8 a.m.-noon.
LACROSSE
Officials Needed: The Eastern Massachusetts Women's Lacrosse Umpires Association is looking to recruit new high school officials, male or female, for the 2004 season. No experience is necessary. Training will be held in January, February and March. Call 781-344-9705 for more information.
