SEEKONK -- A South Seekonk senior citizen was threatened at knifepoint, and then bound and gagged, by a man who invaded his home Saturday morning.
Louis Botseas, 83, of 152 South Wheaton Ave., ultimately helped East Providence Police nab a suspect minutes after the incident, shortly before 8:30 a.m., Seekonk Police Chief Vito Scotti said.
Botseas called 911 after freeing himself from his bonds, within a minute after the suspect left, Scotti said. Botseas described the man to Seekonk dispatcher Allyson Chimelowski, who shared the details with Seekonk and area departments, Scotti said.
East Providence police arrested Ronald D. Blair, 35, of 18F Rolling Green St., Newport, R.I., after stopping him in the van he allegedly stole from Botseas, Scotti said. Blair was arrested on Highland Avenue near Warren Avenue in East Providence.
