FOXBORO -- An elderly California woman was killed in a two-car accident Thursday afternoon at the intersection of North and Chestnut streets.

Georgianna Smith, 85, of Hemmet, Calif., was pronounced dead at Rhode Island Hospital in Provi dence a few hours after the 12:30 p.m.

Police said she suffered multiple internal injuries in the crash.

She was the passenger in a car driven by Dixie Buckland, 60, of Walpole. Buckland was in fair condition this morning at Rhode Island Hospital.
