Day of mourning

Federal offices, state executive offices and some local offices will be closed Friday in observance of a National Day of Mourning for former President Ronald Reagan.

Mail delivery will be suspended for the day.

Municipal offices and libraries in Attleboro and Norfolk will be closed.

Mansfield town offices will close an hour early, at 11 a.m.

The Plainville Public Library will be closed. Plainville town offices typically are closed on Fridays.

Norton's Public Library also will be closed Friday as is the Blanding Public Library in Rehoboth which is normally closed on Friday.

Attleboro schools will be open, although there will be a moment of silence in honor of the late president.

The state Department of Education said if schools close on Friday, they will have to make up the day.

All state courts will remain open.

Many banks were expected to remain open because currency trading was expected to continue.

Registry of Motor Vehicles offices will be closed. All road tests or hearings scheduled on Friday should be rescheduled stating Monday.

The New York Stock Exchange, Nasdaq Stock Market and American Stock Exchange5 will all be closed Friday.
