Man charged with steroid possession
NORTON -- An investigation into an alleged domestic assault on Plain Street resulted in the arrest of a 41-year-old man and the seizure of about $40,000 worth of steroids and hypodermic needles, police said Wednesday.
Robert Goddard, of 72 Plain St., Norton, pleaded innocent Wednesday to domestic assault and drug charges in Attleboro District Court before being ordered held in jail on $5,000 cash bail.
Goddard denies the steroids, hypodermic needles and poppy plants found in his home belonged to him, said his lawyer, Lonn Greenberg of Attleboro.
The steroids and paraphernalia belonged to Goddard's former wife, who is a body builder and moved out in February, Greenberg told Judge Toby Mooney.
But Prosecutor Stella Lakidis said police discovered almost all of the alleged contraband in Goddard's bedroom when they executed a search warrant at his home Tuesday night. |
