Walgreen's eyes Norton site

NORTON -- Plans have been filed for a 14,550-square-foot Walgreens Drug Store on Route 123.

The building is planned for 42-44 West Main St. (Route 123), commonly referred to as the Scott property.

Assessors' records show two existing buildings on the parcel which is located next to Haskins Pharmacy. The Haskins' family-owned pharmacy has been on West Main Street for 50 years.

The site proposed for the Walgreens is across the street from Ashmont Discount store and a CVS pharmacy. The Walgreens building would be slightly larger than the CVS, Town Planner Charles Gabriel said.
