Mansfield imposes parking ban

MANSFIELD -- Selectmen Wednesday enacted an overnight parking ban on downtown streets throughout the winter, but for the first time in more than a half-century will prohibit parking on residential streets only as conditions warrant.
Overnight parking will be allowed for much of the town for the first winter in about 60 years, except when snowstorms are imminent.
The downtown ban will be from midnight to 6 a.m., and will end on April 30. Violators risk being fined and having their vehicles towed, Police Chief Arthur O'Neill said.
