NORTH ATTLEBORO -- One look at the numbers, and it's easy to assume that the North Attleboro High School girls' basketball team is a one-woman show.
But that wasn't the case in the second game of Monday's Attleboro Area Girls' Holiday Tournament at the Ken Pickering Gym.
Emily Cournoyer had the most impressive numbers of all -- 20 points, 17 rebounds, nine blocked shots and five assists -- but one by one, other Rocketeers picked their moments to step up and help propel their team past Attleboro, 52-33, and into Wednesday's championship game.
The Rocketeers (4-1) will take on defending champion Bishop Feehan (3-0), a 46-43 overtime victor over Mansfield, in the 7:45 p.m. title game.
`` We were a little bit sloppy,'' North coach John DelBonis said. `` We played pretty good defense, but I don't think we were focusing on our offense, and we struggled a little bit.''
It may be difficult to see a 19-point victory as `` struggling'' at first look, but North's lead over the 1-3 Bombardiers was only eight points with 12:51 left and just 10 (40-30) with 9:02 left.
With 8:04 left, freshman Nicole Matte provided a spark with a pretty follow-up to a missed shot by Cournoyer. That started a run of seven unanswered points over the next 3\ minutes that put the game out of Attleboro's reach.
