ATTLEBORO -- A 21-year-old North Attleboro man faces drunken-driving charges related to a hit-and-run accident that resulted in injuries to a passenger, police said Thursday.

Anthony Balasco of 407 Hickory Road in North Attleboro was identified by witnesses as the driver in a single-car accident on Route 1 near Hackett Avenue about 12:15 a.m. Thursday, police said.

He was apprehended shortly afterward in the 400 block of Robinson Avenue, allegedly after he ran from police responding to the area.
