ATTLEBORO -- With three close games in their last four outings, the members of the Bishop Feehan High School girls' basketball team thought they were due for a little but of a breather.
But they still had to work to get it.
Outrebounded 8-0 over the first five minutes of play Tuesday, the undefeated Shamrocks gradually brought all facets of their game together and raced past cross-town rival Attleboro, 67-45, in Eastern Athletic Conference play.
Despite their early struggles on the boards, the Shamrocks did everything else well enough to gradually pull away from the Bombardiers.
`` Ultimately, we were able to pressure them enough to make it very difficult for them to get into any kind of an offense,'' Feehan coach Mike Deady said.
Leading by just 10-8 with 8:06 left in the first half after Attleboro's Meaghan Bayly converted a missed jumper by Anna Tsangalidis, Feehan applied a tough man-to-man press and turned the defensive intensity into a 16-2 run over the next five minutes.
