City man leads rights group
ATTLEBORO -- The nation's largest gay civil rights group has again chosen a local person as its leader.
City native Joe Solmonese, 40, was named president of the Human Rights Campaign on Wednesday.
He succeeds former state Sen. Cheryl Jacques, who stepped down from her Attleboro-area district to lead the Human Rights Campaign in January 2004.
