NORTH ATTLEBORO -- North Attleboro Electric mangers and two electric commissioners clashed Wednesday night over whether the state Inspector General's Office should have access to consultants who may have been involved with the department's failed Internet service.
The inspector general is investigating whether a $4 million bond was improperly spent to start the Internet service, and has asked the electric department to waive its attorney-client privilege with consultants who were hired when the money was spent.
Electric Commissioners Edward Vandette and Thomas Corrigan have waived their privilege, but they cannot do so for the entire department.
