-- `` He's played very well for us,'' related Bishop Feehan High hockey coach Phil Hulbig of junior defenseman Ted Carmone. `` He's been the steadying force for us back there. He's technically sound and he plays with an intensity, an edge.''

-- Perhaps one of the best Bombardier hoopsters to hardly ever represent Attleboro High on the basketball floor was senior swingman Jon Linhares, who tore his meniscus on the first day of preseason practice and sat out the entire season under physician's orders. `` He definitely would have helped us with our shooting,'' said AHS coach Mark Houle.

-- Bishop Feehan High hoopster Matt Doherty will represent the EAC in the Boys Club Challenge against the South Coast Conference all-stars March 18 at the New Bedford Boys Club.

-- After just two wins this season, Norton High boys' hoop boss Marc Liberatore is already looking forward to next season, what will be a young Lancer team. `` Our freshman class is our best class, we had several of them playing with the junior varsity and we have some others coming in so we might have to bring them in quickly,'' he said.

-- Former Bishop Feehan High swimmer Meaghan Thomas of Foxboro rewrote three of her own Bridgewater State College records -- in the 500 (5:22.01), 1,000 (10:59.44) and 1,650 (19:12.7) freestyle events.

-- `` He really had a phenomenal season,'' related Tri-County High boys' basketball coach Dave Wallace of senior guard Kolby Simmons, who cut down on his turnover rate to average 10 points per game and shoot 74 percent at the free throw line. `` The way that we ran our offense, he didn't have to make many decisions and his turnovers dropped. He became the offensive threat.''

-- In the March 2005 issue of the National Masters News, the U.S. Outdoor Masters Track and Field Rankings for 2004 has Attleboro's Sheila McKenna ranked fifth in the 800 meters (3:46) and 12th in the 400 meters (1:39) in the 60-and-over bracket.

-- The Attleboro High boys' gymnastics team received a superb season from Matt Lincoln, while senior captains Sam Schultz (vault, floor exercises) and Shane White (high bar, rings) were consistent, `` but after that we had a drop-off in talent,'' said Bombardier boss Mike Martin, `` we didn't have the depth that we normally do.''

-- Attleboro High grad Tim McGlaston, a freshman at Washington and Lee University, was named to the All-Bluegrass Mountain Conference all-star swimming team after taking second in the 50 freestyle (21.57 seconds) at the league meet.
