City schools to close Good Friday
ATTLEBORO -- City schools will be closed on Good Friday after teachers voted against a proposal to hold classes.
Members of the Attleboro Education Association Monday turned down the proposal, previously authorized by the school committee, to hold class on that day.
Such a change in the school calendar requires approval from the teachers' union.
Proponents had wanted to reduce the number of school days added to the calendar because of snow.
Unless there are additional snow days, classes currently are scheduled to end on June 29.
State law requires that school end before July 1. |
