Babul, who worked at Youngstown (Ohio) State last year is mulling an offer to join former PC star Jimmy Larranaga at George Mason or his former Minuteman coach Bruiser Flint at Drexel ... Babul, in the meantime, has been the beneficiary of some fancy passing from former Attleboro High and current Bentley College All America guard Tim Forbes, both members of a once-beaten Narragansett Summer League team ... Former Mansfield High star football quarterback Matt McLaughlin, who played at UMass-Dartmouth and has been on Roland James' staff at Sharon High in recent years, will be the new receivers coach for Robb McCoy with the Bishop Feehan High football program. The Shamrocks open the season against Super Bowl playoff Westwood and also have Central Mass. Division 1 Super Bowl playoff St. John's of Shrewsbury as a non-league foe ... Gerard and Joan Keaton of Attleboro are mighty proud of their grandson, Ben Hohl, a student at Menlo High in California, who recently returned from Slovakia as a member of the USA's Junior 18 and under water Polo team which participated in the World Games. Hohl's mom, Katherine Keaton-Hohl, is an Attleboro High grad. The younger Hohl, who also stars in basketball and baseball, was named to the Junior Olympic All American water polo team and was a member of the Pacific team which won the U.S. national age group championship in Florida ... After two seasons on the sidelines as an assistant coach at Holliston High, Brian Martinelli is joining his dad Jack Martinelli as a member of the Foxboro High football staff, the elder Martinelli beginning his 24th season on the sidelines for the Warriors ... The Attleboro High School football team and its Gridiron Club will be sponsoring its annual `` bottle and can'' drive Saturday throughout the city. Members of the 2005 Bombardier football program will be canvassing the city to secure bottles and cans, the proceeds from the return funds will help defray expenses for the upcoming season from 9 a.m until 2 p.m. ... At the Speedo Super Swimming Sectionals in Maryland, Bishop Feehan High products P.J. and Mike Sullivan both competed. P.J. won both the 100 and 200 breaststrokes, qualifying for the 2008 Olympic Team trials in the 200 and also taking third in the 200 IM. Mike Sullivan, meanwhile, qualified for the finals in the 200 backstroke and 400 IM, also clocking personal best times in the 200 butterfly and 200 IM ... Griffin Udelson, a member of coach Joe Reardon's Bishop Feehan High volleyball team, was a member of the Rhode Island Juniors who traveled to Salt Lake City for the national 16 and under tournament ... North Attleboro High freshman Gregory Reddington shot a hole-in-one on the 134-yard 15th hole at Firefly Golf Course in Seekonk, using an 8-iron. Gregory accomplished this feat while competing in the Seekonk Junior Golf League ... Sun Chronicle feature writer Jamie Merolla was listening with baited breath last weekend, when his name was selected for the `` Hit for the Cycle'' contest on WEEI radio. `` Those bums cost me a new car (a Chevy Cobalt is the prize),'' said Merolla as no Bosox player put up the four hits ... And last seen shagging foul balls behind the McCoy Stadium wall was none other than Dighton-Rehoboth High golf coach Bill Cute, who watches a few innings and then heads down to the parking lot -- `` we've been pretty lucky, we've got a bunch of them,'' he chuckled ... Plainville's Jon Lareau, a defenseman who plays in the New England Junior League with the Junior Bruins, is the lone local player to be participating in the Hockey Night in Boston series which gets underway this weekend ...
