Marriage ban fails
ATTLEBORO -- The state Legislature overwhelm ingly struck down a ban on gay marriage Wednes day, but the issue is far from settled.
Local lawmakers said the vote merely sets the stage for a three-year battle over another, more restrictive, proposal to limit marriage to one man and one woman.
`` It's going to go on and on,'' said state Rep. John Lepper, R-Attleboro.
