PAWTUCKET -- State health officials notified city officials Wednesday they confirmed two recent cases of rabid animals in the city.
At least one animal was a kitten, part of a litter a resident of the Grotto Avenue neighborhood turned in to a Providence animal hospital, where it scratched an employee.
Grotto Avenue is in the Woodlawn section of Pawtucket, and is not near the Attleboro line.
