MANSFIELD -- Skeletal remains found Saturday in woods off Branch Street have tentatively been identified as belonging to a former local man.

The remains are believed to be of Gary Wade, 51, formerly of 177 Branch St., Detective Sgt. Sam Thompson said Wednesday.

A military dog tag was found on the body, Thompson said.
