ATTLEBORO -- A former South Attleboro man is facing child pornography charges, allegedly for possessing hundreds of sexually explicit images of young children downloaded into his computer.

Arthur Lawrence, 42, who now lives with his mother in Braintree, is being held in jail without bail pending a dangerousness hearing Monday in Attleboro District Court.

`` We do believe he is a sexual deviant with the photos he has,'' Assistant District Attorney Matthew Sylvia said during his bail argument Wednesday.

Lawrence, a Verizon Communications employee, turned himself in to city police Wednesday morning accompanied by his lawyer after Detective Timothy Cook obtained a warrant for his arrest.
