To a man, football players claim they never read what's written about them in the newspapers.
So, if that's to believed, those stacks of newspapers in the team's cafeteria are there solely for the purpose of doing the crosswords, checking out the exploits of Doonesbury or Mary Worth, or reading the stock market tables.
More likely, players are usually well-informed of the printed or broadcast coverage of their exploits -- and that may be one reason why Richard Seymour played like a man possessed in the Patriots' 35-7 triumph Sunday over the Buffalo Bills at Ralph Wilson Stadium.
