NORTH ATTLEBORO -- Selectmen offered to extend Town Administrator Mark Fisher's contract for another four months Thursday as they continue to discuss how to proceed with the search to permanently fill the post.

While Fisher did not receive the required four votes last week to officially become the new town administrator, he received the four votes Thursday to continue holding the job on a short-term basis.

Selectman James Wood was opposed, arguing that Fisher does not meet the qualifications listed in town bylaws for the job.
