ATTLEBORO -- Six of ten city coun cil committees will get new chairmen in a shake-up fueled partly by vacan cies created when two councilors did not seek re-election.
Other changes were spurred when council President Barry LaCasse and Vice President Robert Schoch decid ed to fill the vacancies with veteran councilors, creating more empty seats to fill.
The most prominent changes are the elevation of three-term Councilor Kim Allard to the top spot on the pub lic safety committee and secondterm Councilor Brian Kirby to the head of the committee on ordinances.
