A taste of the tropics

ATTLEBORO -- Many a cold winter wind is expected to whip across the Attleboro area in the next couple of months, but residents soon will be able to get a warming rain forest respite in a revamped tropical exhibit at Capron Park Zoo.

An Indian Crested Porcupine will be one of the main features of the zoo's restocked and repainted display of rain forest animals when it reopens in about a month, said zoo director Jean Benchimol.

The little animal from India that looks fierce and can inflict damage with its long, sharp quills when threatened, arrived at the exhibit which is still under construction this week.
