Local `` American Idol'' contestant Ayla Brown stole the spotlight on Tuesday night's episode of the Fox Network show as one of a half-dozen featured contestants to advance to the coveted `` Hollywood Round'' in the hugely popular national competition.

Brown, 17, of Wrentham, was the second contestant featured Tuesday night -- and the first to get the green light to Hollywood.

The episode included footage of Boston auditions held last October with celebrity judges Randy `` Dawg'' Jackson, Paula Abdul and Simon Cowell.

Brown's three-minute brush with nationally televised fame featured a brief introduction touting her as the `` All-American Girl,'' and showcasing footage of the young hopeful with her parents, WCVB-TV newscaster Gail Huff and state Sen. Scott Brown, R-Wrentham.
