Letter: Praises heroes for stand against discrimination

To the editor: This letter is in response to Harold Crowell's letter to the editor contending that 100 cowards in the legislature thwarted the will of the people with respect to their right to vote on same-sex marriage in Massachusetts. Mr. Crowell is 100 percent wrong.
The `` cowards'' Mr. Crowell speaks of are heroes, plain and simple. The legislators that voted to delay the decision on the hateful same-sex marriage amendment did so because the measure was dis criminatory.
Crowell is correct about one thing; John Adams is turning in his grave because for the first time in our state's history, we are contem plating taking away the civil liber ties of an innocent minority of citi zens. `` Let the people vote'' goes the mantra -- give me a break!
If they were honest, Mr. Crowell and others who share his beliefs should shout; `` let me impose my religious beliefs on you...my God says it's a sin for two people of the same-sex to be married, so I'm going to do my best to make sure everyone in Massachusetts lives their life by my religious code.''
Also, I want to personally applaud attorney Gregory P. Lee of North Attleboro for calling for the resignations of representatives John Lepper, R-Attleboro, and Betty Poirier, R-North Attleboro. More people should be as bold to stand up to bigotry.
Joe Solis, Attleboro
