WRENTHAM - State Sen. Scott Brown said Saturday he will keep his response to the King Philip Regional School Committee's request for an apology for his behavior during a student assembly "between the school committee and me."
The board recently asked Brown, in writing, to apologize to students and staff at King Philip Regional High School for making critical comments and swearing during the assembly last month.
At that time, Brown, R-Wrentham, singled out students by name who he said wrote critical comments about him and his family on the Web site, facebook.com. Brown read those comments - some of which contained profanities and referred to Brown's anti-gay marriage stance.
Brown said Saturday his office just got the school board's letter requesting an apology, but has not read and responded to it.
"But whatever I do is going to be between the school committee and me, and if they decide to publicize it ...," Brown said.
"It's old news as far as I'm concerned."
