Ross sponsoring bill against unrestrained eminent domain

Foes of the unrestrained use of eminent domain by the government have found a friend in state Rep. Richard Ross.
The Republican from Wrentham is sponsoring legislation proposed by Citizens for Limited Taxation that would make Massachusetts the latest state to respond to a controversial 2005 U.S Supreme Court case involving the city of New London, Conn.
Ross, who owns a funeral home in Wrentham, said he has a personal interest in the legislation.
"It did pique my interest. Being a small business owner and a property owner, I'm concerned with the government's ability to take property," he said.
