BANGOR - A Norton man faces robbery, assault and theft charges in Maine, where he and an associate are being held on $10,000 bail.
Nicholas Pellon, 40, of Norton, and Jonathan Irwin, 34, of Bangor, each face a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and a fine of up to $50,000, according to The Bangor Daily News.
Pellon and Irwin are accused of beating and robbing a woman in Veazie, a Bangor suburb, on the night of June 29.
The victim told police that she and two women friends went to what they thought was a barbecue, but shortly after she arrived, the men demanded money from her, Veazie Police Sgt. Keith Emery said.
The men then allegedly beat her, forced her into a car, and drove her to her parents' house in Bangor to get more cash.
The woman escaped at that point, but the shirt was ripped from her back, Emery said.
Pellon and Irwin are scheduled for an Aug. 10 court date.
