Two charged in raid

ATTLEBORO - More than a month of investigative work resulted in the arrest Friday of two people for allegedly selling cocaine and marijuana out of the city's public housing development.

Police arrested Joseph M. Taylor, 32, of 53 Carlon St., and Wanda E. Carrion, 27, of the same address, police Detective Sgt. Arthur Brillon said.

They were charged with possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute; possession of a marijuana with intent to distribute and conspiracy to violate drug laws.

Brillon said detectives Russell Castro and James Cote developed information that illegal drugs were being sold out of 53 Carlon St. in the city public housing development.

After a month and a half of surveillance and investigating, police executed a search warrant Friday with the assistance of the North Bristol County Drug Task Force. Additionally, Taylor was charged with violating the sex offender law.

Brillon said Taylor is a Level 2 sex offender and failed to inform police he had charged his address.

Brillon said the pair will be arraigned Monday in Attleboro District Court. Taylor was being held Friday night at the police station on $5,000 cash bail. Carrion was being held on $500 cash bail.
