ATTLEBORO - Anyone missing 20 pounds of marijuana?
Attleboro police have it sitting in an evidence locker for whoever wants to claim it.
The marijuana was seized earlier this week after it was shipped by FedEx from a fictitious address in Edinburg, Texas, to a fictitious address on Brettonwoods Drive, according to court records.
Because the FedEx driver could not find the person or the proper address listed on the package, it was returned to headquarters where the package was opened to determine more information for delivery.
When the company discovered the marijuana Tuesday, they contacted Attleboro police.
Detective Lt. John Otrando said the marijuana has a street value of between $20,000 and $30,000.
When asked if he expected anyone to claim the package, Otrando laughed.
He said police are still working on identifying who delivered the package and who it was being delivered to.
"We'll continue to investigate to try to develop more leads," Otrando said.
