Girls remain critical, mom's funeral set

Top Headlines A hospital spokeswoman said that the conditions of Danielle Cann, 15, and her sister Brittany, 12, were not expected to change overnight. Meanwhile, the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home in Canton announced that Elizabeth Cann's funeral will be held Saturday morning, Sept. 1, at 10:30 at a Roman Catholic church in Canton, St. John the Evangelist, 700 Washington St. A wake will be held at the funeral home, 455 Washington St., on Friday, Aug. 31, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Burial will be private. Cann's funeral will be officiated by the Rev. Bernard Hinckley, the pastor of the Trinitarian Congregational Church in Norton, where Cann was a devoted longtime congregant. The service is being held at the Canton church to accommodate the large crowd that is expected, according to a statement on Trinitarian's Web site. We are sure there are many people who are feeling helpless and looking for some way to help. Also, we are wondering if the golfers currently playing at Norton Country Club ( Tiger Woods, etc.) could be asked if they might be willing to contribute. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all involved. " or
