GUEST COLUMN: Restore Mansfield accountability
Thomas Wojick, candidate for selectman in Mansfield's Nov. 6 recall election, submitted the following guest column:
Mr. Wojick is the president of Structure Tech LLC, a residential design and consulting firm located in Mansfield. He holds a bachelor's degree from Wentworth Institute of Technology in Boston and is a certified professional building designer. Tom has also been a licensed builder in Massachusetts for 24 years and is registered as a home improvement contractor. He is a member of the American Institute of Building Design, the American Institute of Architects, and the Better Business Bureau. Presently he is the vice president of the Massachusetts Society of the AIBD. Tom resides at 42 Cobbler Road with his wife Darby and their two daughters Montana and Sierra.
His reasons for running for this position are two-fold. Initially, Mr. Wojick intends to resolve the costly issues which have placed the town in unending turmoil. He strongly believes that the expected level of honesty and integrity of certain town officials is almost non-existent. He insists on bringing accountability back to town government in Mansfield so that we, as a community, can focus on the more important achievements that the residents and businesses expect and deserve.
In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities expected of a selectman, Tom would also like to devote his energy to the downtown revitalization plan. Although aware there is already a committee handling this crucial issue, he wants to be assured that everything is being done to guarantee success. Normally, he states, police and fire would be his main interest. But, honorably, these two lifelines of Mansfield are in AAA shape. You couldn't get any better.
In closing, Mr. Wojick proclaimed, if elected, he will never forget why he is where he is. The only reason to run for this position is to represent and protect the best interests of Mansfield, and nothing else.
The recall election will be held on Nov. 6. |
