BASEBALL
Extra Innings, West Bridgewater is now taking registration for the following clinics: Fall Indoor Wiffle Ball Leagues: Wiffle leagues are being formed for second annual Fall league. This year's league starts this week and runs until January 25. Three age groups, 6-8, 9-10 and 11-12, will compete over 14 weeks for Extra Innings Wiffle Trophy. Each team plays once a week. Sign up as a team or as an individual and be placed on a team. Extra Innings staff will umpire the games and there will be new rules. Baseball/Softball Holiday Vacation Clinics: Extra Innings taking registration for annual baseball/softball Christmas Vacation Clinic. BASKETBALL
R.A.B.C. will be holding its annual showcase on Sunday November 4 at Sherwood Sports Complex. The showcase will run from 2-5 p.m. This showcase is for post-graduate, senior and junior student athletes. The number of players at the showcase is kept low. There are generally more coaches than players and only one game is run at a time. The goal is to get the players seen by the coaches. New England Colonials International Basketball Club: Accepting applications for two overseas basketball tours for April 2008 school vacation; Colonials' Rovers tour, open to boys in 9th grade, will head to Ireland. Velocity Sports Performance and Mass Premier Courts are sponsoring a free clinic on Sports Injuries on Tuesday November 20, from 7-8 p.m. Any parent of a middle school or high school athlete who is interested in learning how to treat and prevent common leg injuries should attend this clinic. Topics will include: Jumper's Knee, Osgood-Schlatter's disease, ankle sprains, and low back pain. The main speaker is Bruce Levine, PT, MS. Mr. Levine has spent 19 years as a Physical Therapist, with extensive experience in sports rehabilitation and injury prevention programs for youth athletes. Mr. Levine will discuss the cause, treatment and prevention of common leg injuries incurred by Middle School and High School athletes.
