Because the 5K and the five mile are simultaneously contested on the same course for a mile and a half, many of the competitors don't know who will be running which race or where potential rivals may lurk. That's the situation that developed Sunday when Attleboro's Kevin Gorman jumped into the lead of the 388 runners streaming out of the Mansfield Holiday Inn and appeared headed for a first place finish .... in either race.
