Who would students invite to turkey dinner?
Top Headlines As part of a voluntary project, students were asked to write short essays about who they would invite to Thanksgiving dinner if they could invite anyone they wanted to the table. Students came back with a variety of responses, dreaming up dinners with everyone from celebrities to family and friends. Jennifer Badger said she wanted to invite her Uncle Steven, who is in Iraq. "He is in the Army and I give him thanks because he keeps us safe," she wrote. Alexandra Bergevine hoped to invite one of the country's hottest celebrities to her dinner table, extending an invite to invite Disney star Miley Cyrus, who plays Hannah Montana. Another student also went with a Disney theme. Emma Carter said she would invite Cinderella, "so she could teach me how to be a princess and then I could be Cinderella all the time." Another student said she would invite Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis so she could learn more about the former first lady. "I would invite her because she is very interesting to me and I think we can answer all of the questions I have for her," Alyssa Gallagher wrote in her essay. Shane Wild had sports on his mind when he decided to invite David Ortiz, "because he is the best ballplayer on the Red Sox."
