Police: Prisoner tries to hang himself

ATTLEBORO - A prisoner at Attleboro District Court was taken Sturdy Memorial Hospital this morning after attempting to hang himself in a holding cell.

The prisoner, identified as Nelson G. Raposo, 26, of 77 Maple St., Attleboro, was arrested Tuesday for allegedly cutting cooper wire on railroad tracks at the East Junction train way station in Attleboro. He had been chased through the woods along with another suspect by Attleboro Police.

Raposo was reportedly conscious when taken to the hospital.
