Fire destroys Foxboro home
Top Headlines Foxboro and four area fire departments fought the blaze reported about 3:20 a.m. at 5 Angela Drive. There were no injuries. All occupants were out of the single-family house by the time firefighters arrived to find the rear of the building and first floor engulfed with fire. "Everybody got out," Fire Capt. Thomas Buckley said. "The homeowner heard noises outside and realized fire was on the back outside porch area, and got out and ran to a neighbor and called 911." The fire spread to the second floor and firefighters had to vent the roof. "It is a total loss," Buckley said. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Firefighters were tied up at the scene for about three hours. Wrentham sent a ladder truck to the fire and Mansfield, Sharon and Walpole sent engines. Norfolk and Norwood firefighters covered the fire station. The state fire marshal's office was notified as was the building inspector.
