BASEBALL

Attleboro Youth Baseball will again be holding its Monday Night Skills and Drills sessions between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Bartek Recreation Center on Pine Street through late March of 2008.

Extra Innings, West Bridgewater is now taking registration for the following clinics: Baseball/Softball Holiday Vacation Clinics: Extra Innings taking registration for annual baseball/softball Christmas Vacation Clinic. The clinics will be separate and will be run by professional staff from Extra Innings. Clinics kickoff on December 24 and run through the week with a break on Christmas Day. An exhibition series for high school varsity teams will be held near Cooperstown in spring 2008. Tournaments for 13, 14U, 15U, 16U and 18U summer teams will be held Memorial Day weekend and during the summer. It is a great chance to visit the Hall of Fame and play some baseball.

Rhode Island Tides Baseball Club will be conducting tryouts at Bryant University in late December and early January to select their 2008 teams for ages 12, 13, and 14, to register and learn more about us, go to our web site at www.rhodeislandtides.com or email rhodeislandtides@cox.net or call 401-265-7944. The Tides coaching staff is made up of current or former high school and college coaches. The Tides are a non-profit youth baseball program that has been in existence since 1994 helping to develop youth baseball players in the Ocean State and bordering Southern New England towns. The Tides are able to select players from throughout the New England Region, however, for the past few years the organization has mainly concentrated the roster to players from all cities and towns of Rhode Island and the bordering Southern New England towns, such as Seekonk, Rehoboth, Taunton, Attleboro, North Attleboro, Foxboro, and Middleboro. BASKETBALL

A Boys' Holiday Basketball Tournament will be held from December 27-30 at Sherwood Sports Complex in Seekonk. This tournament is for all all-star recreation teams. All town, CYO, recreation center all-star teams are welcome. There will be 5th through 8th grade divisions. The team fee is $195. New England Colonials International Basketball Club: Accepting applications for two overseas basketball tours for April 2008 school vacation; Colonials' Rovers tour, open to boys in 9th grade, will head to Ireland. Older Ambassadors team (boys in grade 10) will visit and play in Finland and Estonia. SOFTBALL

The Wheaton College softball coaching staff will conduct a clinic Jan. 6 and 13 at the Haas Athletic Complex. A hitting and fielding clinic will be held from 9 a.m. until noon, while a pitching and catching clinic will be held from noon to 1:30 p.m.; This two-week clinic, running only on Sundays, designed for girls in grades 4-12, will outline strategies and fundamentals on hitting, fielding, and throwing. The clinic will be directed by Gina Loudenburg and Cheryl Warren-Powers and current Wheaton players. VOLLEYBALL

MISCELLANEOUS The Attleboro YMCA Jaguars Youth Track & Field Team is open to boys and girls ages 6 to 18. The Jaguar coaching staff provides training in sprinting, distance running, long jump, high jump, and shot put. In addition to track & field training the Jaguars have weekly group fun runs and fitness activities encouraging healthy active lifestyles.
