NORTH ATTLEBORO - The state Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission has ordered a three-day suspension of the liquor license for LA Roberts restaurant at Route 1 and Chestnut Street for selling alcohol to an intoxicated patron.
But owner Mike Valeri said any suspension is pending appeal. He said he was just recently notified of the commission's decision and has 20 days to appeal, but he has not decided whether he will.
Valeri said it is the first time the restaurant has been cited, and he also has the option of paying a fine in lieu of a license suspension.
Ralph Sacramone, executive director of the ABCC, said the commission made its decision after a hearing Jan. 10. The suspension would be effective Feb. 27-29. Sacramone said the restaurant was cited by commission investigators, who were doing compliance checks for its Safe Holidays program.
