NORTH ATTLEBORO - For Colin Quinn, Sunday's Super Bowl truly will be a fight to the finish.

"My whole family are Giants fans," said the sixth-grader at North Attleboro Middle School. "Sometimes I feel overpowered. I'm a really big Patriots fan and always have been one."

Quinn said his family is gathering to watch the big game together, and that includes his parents, who are both from New York.

So maybe their allegiance to the enemy could be forgiven. But Quinn, 12, is lucky he's got devotion to the home team. Because Friday - football dress up at the middle school - was all about boasting support for the New England Patriots, who could attain that perfect season with a win Sunday in Arizona.

"Can't you tell? I've got springs in my hair!" said Nicole Powers, 13. "The Patriots rock!"
Powers and a couple of her girlfriends admitted they're looking forward to the Super Bowl just because the Patriots are playing and because, of course, there's a party.

But more middle school students professed their love for football and appreciation for its biggest game. It's been all the talk at school as the Patriots marched toward this momentous point.

Stephanie Kane, 13, said she's been into football as long as she can remember. Her big plan? Watching the game with her father over a snack-filled coffee table.

"He kind of wanted a boy instead of a daughter," she said. "So he got me into it. He gets really excited about these things."

Asked about their predictions for Sunday, the answer was unanimous. The Patriots are going to win. The possibility of a Giants victory? That question was met with total silence.

Well, except for Quinn.

"If you asked my parents, they'd say yes," he said.
