NOTESTER: Authors hosting wine dinner on Hill




PROVIDENCE - Joe Zito and Linda Beaulieu, co-authors of

"The TV Maitre d' Cookbook," will host

a casual dinner and book signing on

Wednesday, March 26, at Costantino’s

on DePasquale Plaza off Atwells Avenue in Providence.

The event featuring former Wrentham

resident Beaulieu will begin with a Prosecco

reception at 6, followed by a rustic Italian dinner.

The menu includes an authentic antipasto,

a pasta course, chicken Milanese with arugula,

coffee and dessert — homemade ravioli

cookies.

For 50 bucks you get dinner, a copy of

the book and a glass of Prosecco during the opening reception. Zito, who resides in East

Greenwich, is the host of the local television

show. Beaulieu, who now lives in Lincoln, is an

award-winning food writer.

The March 26 dinner is the first in a series

How does walking around Boston’s North

End eating sound? Try "North End Exposure:

A Progressive Dinner" Tuesday. Diners, with

maps and menus in hand, can stroll from

Prezza, Tresca, Taranta and Lucca, and not

necessarily in that order, and choose from

among four options: a pasta, meat, fish and

Maerzen-braised short ribs are the entree at

the Anheuser-Busch beer dinner 6:30 Wednesday

at Morin’s on South Main Street in Downtown

Attleboro. Dinner starts with spicy shrimp

cakes with corn salsa, followed by grilled chicken

with pears, dried cherries and toasted walnuts.

Dessert is lemon polenta cake with warm fruit

compote. All served with different beers, of

program. At Box Seats at

Tower Square on Route 1,

they’ll kick in 15 percent of

your tab on Wednesdays,

Boulevard they’ll donate 10

percent of orders, pick-up

or delivery, on Tuesdays

between 5 and 10. And

on this coming Tuesday,

Domino’s on East Washington Street will give the

group 15 percent of all pick-ups and deliveries

between 4 and 9.

in which you make your own choosing from

The Notester and companion dined at 3 on 140

in Franklin on noteworthy wild mushroom ravioli

— porcini mushroom pasta stuffed with mushroom

ricotta filling and served with sun-dried tomatoes and

baby spinach in a brandy herb sauce — and ginger

lime center-cut cod served with Thai noodles, stir-fry

vegetables, crispy wonton and a sweet miso glaze.

Dessert was key lime pie, of course, at the restaurant

that used to be Pippinelle’s before it underwent

major renovation under the new owners. You can get

everything from a salad with pecan-crusted chicken

to Maine lobster pie or lobster mac and cheese to
