North Attleboro's Devers among top Bluefish swimmers

ATTLEBORO - North Attleboro High's Connor Devers, representing the Attleboro Bluefish swim club, had three top-10 placements as the New England Age Group Swimming Championship Meet at Harvard University.
Nearly 700 swimmers representing 59 New England teams participated in the meet with the Bluefish taking 17th overall.
Devers ranked 24th overall in the boys' 13-14 division with 34 points. The Rocketeer freshman took seventh place in the 200 butterfly (2:10.4), eighth in the 200 backstroke (2:31.6), 10th in the 200 individual medley (2:11.5) and 15th in the 200 backstroke (2:14:3).
Isaiah Williams and Emily McQuaid, both 10 and from Norton, and Hannah Nitso of Attleboro were among 14 Bluefish Swim Club members to qualify for and compete at the New England Swimming 12 and Under Age Group Championship meet.
Williams competed in the 100 breaststroke, backstroke, individual medley, 200 freestyle and 200 individual medley, while also being a member of the first-place 200 and 400 freesstyle relay teams and the second-place 200 medley relay team.
McQuad competed in the girls' 10 and under 50 butterfly, 100 breaststroke and 200 individual medley, as well as being a member of the third-place 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams and fifth-place 200 medley relay team.
Nitso competed in the girls' 10 and under 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events, in addition to being a member of the third-place 200 and 400 freestyle relay teams.
Williams, McQuaid and Nitson were also among 54 Bluefish Swim Club members to qualify for and compete at the New England Swimming Regional Meet at Seekonk High's Mayers Natatorium.
In that meet, Williams won the 100 and 200 freestyle events, the 200 IM and was second in the 100 backstroke, 50 freestyle and 100 butterfly and IM events.
McQuad took third place in the 100 IM, fourth in the 100 butterfly and fifth in the 100 freestyle, while Nitson won the 50 and 200 freestyle events and took second in the 100 freestyle.
