Top Headlines The legendary James Montgomery Blues Band, postponed because of snow a couple of weeks past, will return to Steve's Backstage Pass, 15 School St., Taunton, at 9 p.m. Friday. Doors open at 7. Cover is $20. On Saturday, Steve's features blues-ified rock with Lowell singer-songwriter Frank Morey. Cover is $10 for the 9 p.m. show. Blackstone River Theatre, 549 Broad St., Cumberland, R.I., will present an evening of contemporary Scottish music with Hanneke Cassel and Friends at 8 p.m. Friday. Admission is $12. Cassel, the U.S. National Scottish Fiddle Champion, is joined by guitarist Christopher Lewis and cellist Natalie Haas. Rick's Music, Route 44, Raynham, will present an evening of music from faith-based songwriters Eliza Austin, Jordan Sullivan and Dr. David Spencer at 8 p.m. Friday. Admission is $8 for the in-the-round presentation. The Bay State Stompers make their Sunday Night Jazz debut this Sunday night at Steve's Backstage Pass, 15 School St., Taunton. Cover is $10 for the rousing Dixieland ensemble. Showtime is 7-9 p.m. The Stompers are a seven-piece Dixieland Band consisting of a trumpet, trombone, clarinet, two banjos, tuba and percussion. The band was formed in 1985 by Bill Kass (tuba) and Paul Gookin (reeds) with Mike Palmieri (trumpet) and Bob Campbell (banjo & vocals) who continue to play together today. Chan's, 267 Main St., Woonsocket, offers up Sugar Ray and the Bluetones 8 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $12. The Bluetones feature Mudcat Ward on bass, Neil Gouvin on drums and Paul Size on guitar.
