ATTLEBORO - A city native died Thursday after her car struck a pickup truck in Maine, sparking a three-car crash.
Shannon R. Wright-Ettinger, 35, of South Portland, Maine, died at Goodall Hospital in Sanford later Thursday. Obituary, B4
Wright-Ettinger was driving north on Route 4 in Alfred, Maine, when her 1995 Mercury Mystique crossed the center line and struck the truck, Maine State Trooper Thomas Gonneville told The Alfred Reporter. A third car then struck the pickup. Neither of those drivers was seriously injured.
Investigators are looking into why Ettinger crossed the center line, The Reporter said.
Born in Attleboro, Wright-Ettinger grew up in Mansfield and Norton. She was educated in Norton, and a 1990 graduate of Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School in Easton, where she majored in cosmetology.
At the time of her death, she was a student at the Seacoast Career School in Sanford.
A former member of the Attleboro Community Theater, she lived in South Portland for the past several years.
