FOXBORO - Police are using a surveillance tape in the case of a North Attleboro man accused of jumping another man and kicking him in the face at the former End Zone motel on Route 1.
The incident occurred shortly before 5 a.m. Sunday at the America's Best Value Inn and Sports Pub at 105 Washington St., police said.
Police charged Matthew Wise, 24, of Cumberland Avenue in North Attleboro with assault with a dangerous weapon, a shod foot, Police Chief Edward O'Leary said Monday.
A second man, an associate of Wise, will be charged with assault and battery.
Wise denied the allegations, O'Leary said.
But the chief said a motel security camera captured the incident on tape in a second-floor corridor.
Police reviewed the tape after the victim identified Wise as one of the assailants.
O'Leary alleged the tape showed Wise kicking the victim "while he was on his hands and knees on the floor."
The victim, who lives at the inn, suffered a mouth injury in the assault.
He told police four people attacked him, but O'Leary said only two assailants appeared on the surveillance tape.
